East High is a wonderful place. Full of friends and enemies but what no one knows is that someone has been hired to search for a new star but a t.v. show called Star Search. This student is unknown to everyone. But everyone is suspecting its one of the new kids. But in fact its not any of the new kids. Its already a student. Sharpay Evans is the Ice Queen of the school. She is doing everything possible to get that job. She wants to be the next big thing. No matter who gets in her way she will take them down to get what she wants.
The Basketball team starts catching this Star Search bug wanting to be the next big basketball players. Star Search is for every type. From inventing to singing. From basketball to golf. No matter what it is they will find you. Everyone is out for the gold. But then there are the outcasts. There's one girl that doesnt have many friends. She doesn't really want it. She's probably the only one that doesn't.
